The Bumble & Stinger Name
Bumble and Stinger was born out of a deeply personal reflection of chronic health conditions like endometriosis. Much like the bumblebee, these conditions can often go unrecognized in their power and control over our livelihood. These conditions are often misunderstood, yet just like the bumblebee, they are powerful forces that demand attention.
“Bumble” represents the delicate nature of these conditions—like the bee itself, constantly moving, buzzing, and working, often in the background, unseen. It captures the frustration of living with something that doesn’t always show its effects on the outside but is ever-present on the inside.
“Stinger” symbolizes the sharp, undeniable pain and challenges that come with these conditions. It’s the sting that reminds you of the reality, the fight, and the urgency for better understanding, treatment, and awareness.
Together, “Bumble” and “Stinger” embodies the dual nature of living with chronic conditions: the quiet, unrelenting buzz of daily effort alongside the sharp, sometimes overwhelming sting of pain and difficulty. It’s a reminder that strength is not just about endurance but about the courage to keep going, even when it feels impossible. The creator of Bumble and Stinger knows firsthand the challenges of living with chronic and invisible illnesses. Struggling with endometriosis, along with a few other conditions that are often unseen by the outside world, they’ve faced a unique and often difficult journey. Though not always visible, these illnesses have a profound impact on daily life, making it hard to navigate the traditional world where expectations often don’t account for such invisible battles.
Living with these conditions makes it feel like always being disconnected from the world. The creator found themselves constantly adjusting, finding it challenging to fit into a society that doesn’t always understand the struggles of those dealing with chronic pain, fatigue, and other symptoms that aren’t immediately apparent. With this in mind, Bumble and Stinger was born as a way to carve out a space that embraces these challenges.

Our company is a reflection of the desire to not only raise awareness of chronic conditions but also to create something meaningful that resonates with others who face similar battles. The mission of Bumble and Stinger Co. goes beyond simply running a business; it’s about building a community and offering a platform for those who feel overlooked or misunderstood. Our Hive began it’s design and planning with intention just to make a few stickers that show the pain and humor of Endometriosis. However, what was a small idea quickly took flight into a fully functioning business with a wider scope of illnesses. Our company began developing a wide range of categories in stickers, bookmarks, greeting/postcards, and more. The chronic illness community swiftly showed our company how much awareness was needed for so many different symptoms and diseases.
